CUSTOMER: LIVEINTERFACE, an interactive solutions development subsidiary

NEED:

LiveInterface set out to serve the needs of millions of small to medium sized businesses in implementing their own kiosk solutions into place without paying through the nose for ultra-custom solutions. What was needed was an intuitive "do-it-yourself" kiosk which anyone could easily administer without even reading a manual. From surfing the net, to viewing a limited selection of webpages or websites, to providing information that changed daily, to collecting data, to providing a service - LiveInterface said that anything that could be done through the internet should also be easily doable through a fast and covenient and "no-programming needed" kiosk. LiveInterface also wanted this same interactive kiosk to work just as easily as a DVD player, using interactive DVD menus via the touchscreen, allowing the kiosk to be used through either Internet technology or Interactive-Menu-DVD technology.

SOLUTION:
Kionetics developed the intuitive "no-programming needed" proprietary operating system, appropriately called "LiveInterface". In short, this operating system (which resides on a solid-state chip - with no moving parts) has made kiosk development as plug-and-playable as it can get. Customers (or Kionetics) simply created put a webpage on the thumbdrive, or type in an internet address that the kiosk will go to, or put an interactive DVD into the integrated DVD player at which point the kiosk is completely configured. When the kiosk boots up it asks where the content is, and once this information is provided the kiosk can be locked down to point to securely deliver that content. The LiveInterface system also has a simple and intuitive user interface to help developers select which links on a live webpage to follow and which links to ignore, as well as providing other features like an easily customizable screen saver, periodic localized webpage caching (for fast kiosk response), and pre-existing webpage templates.
